We are committed to cultivating a haven where weary souls can reconnect with the Father. We believe in fostering an environment that facilitates reconciliation with God, to return to the connection He intended in His original design.

In the beginning, God created the Garden of Eden as a place of perfect peace, wholeness, and communion with Him. It was a sanctuary where all of creation thrived in harmony, and humans walked in intimate relationship with their Creator. However, with the fall of man, this perfect balance was disrupted, leading to a world filled with brokenness, struggle, and separation from God.

The vision is to reclaim and restore that original harmony and peace, providing a haven for missionaries, individuals in ministry, and weary sojourners. Just as a gardener tends to each plant with care, nurturing it to full health and beauty, we aim to cultivate an environment where healing, growth, and renewal can flourish.

THE VISION

TO PROVIDE A SUPPORTIVE AND RESTORATIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR MISSIONARIES, INDIVIDUALS IN MINISTRY, AND THE WEARY SOJOURNER.

THE MISSION

EMPOWER HEALING AND RESTORE HOPE BY FOLLOWING JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF CULTIVATING GENUINE RELATIONSHIPS, DISCIPLESHIP, AND ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT WHILE GUIDING OTHERS TOWARD WHOLE HEALING; BODY, SOUL & SPIRIT. IN DOING SO, WE RESPOND TO THE COMMISSION OF JESUS CHRIST TO MAKE DISCIPLES OF NATIONS.

Through personalized care, spiritual guidance, and practical support, we aim to create an environment where individuals can find the rest and renewal they need to continue their important work. Whether it’s through Biblical counseling, inner healing, holistic wellness programs, or just simply rest, our goal is to help each person who walks through our doors feel valued, supported, and equipped to thrive in their calling.

We believe our mission work is far from over—in many ways, it feels like it’s just beginning. Through our time spent discipling and counseling remotely, we sense that there will be moments when He will send us out again. These steps of obedience have marked the start of our journey as “American Missionaries” and “Being Mobile.” We have always known that the time would come for us to create a place where people can find true rest. Now, it is time to establish “A Place of Rest” to show others what it truly means to find His rest for their souls.

We invite you to join us in this journey of restoration, whether you are a missionary needing respite, a ministry leader seeking support, or a weary sojourner longing for renewal. Together, we can work towards restoring the beauty, peace, and wholeness that God intended from the very beginning.

Future Vision

Nestled in the gentle foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, cradled by a gurgling stream and embraced by the whispering pines, lies The Garden: A Place of Rest. Inspired by Matthew 11:28-30, this sanctuary offers weary missionaries and ministry leaders a refuge for quiet reflection, healing, prayer, communion, and a deeper connection with God.

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

Alarming statistics show a high turnover rate among missionaries and ministry leaders, with many leaving due to burnout and a lack of support.  Studies suggest 43% of missionaries don’t fulfill their long-term commitments, facing isolation and emotional strain.

Pastors are not immune either, with up to 42% considering leaving ministry due to similar pressures. The good news is there are solutions! Just like our bodies need various forms of care, our spiritual well-being thrives with a multi-faceted approach.

Biblical Counseling can address emotional burdens, discipleship provides guidance and growth, while Natural Wellness brings a focus on the wholeness of Body, Soul, and Spirit promotes overall health. By implementing these solutions and creating a culture of support, we can cultivate a thriving ministry environment where missionaries and leaders can flourish and continue their vital work.
